Challenges in Top-Down, Bottom-Up and Computational Approaches in Synthetic Biology A Symposium Sponsored by SynBioNT
Synthetic Biology raises many ethical, legal and social issues ranging from the creation of new life forms, to its potential use in bioweapons, the creation of new commercial monopolies as well as enormous opportunities for environmental remediation, clean biofuels and substantial medical advantages. These are now the subject of a great deal of policy debate and public interest, and an important part of the SynBioNT network is to promote discussion and engagement with different groups on issues of concern to them. This event will provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers and social scientists working in on synthetic biology meet with members of the general public and a range of interested groups and discuss some of the raised by the development of synthetic biology.
Do come along and join in!
